Really? Another cast??

In the last post I stated that Camden would not receive any more casts to help with the contracture he has developed....I was wrong!  Within the last 2 weeks, he had one last cast put on and taken off.  There were a couple of reasons for this: he needed time out of a cast to gain back some strength, and his brace was not ordered in a timely manner. But, I can officially say he is DONE with casting.  Unfortunately we only gained about one more degree +6 with this last cast.  Not at all what we were hoping to gain since he needs a +10 to a +15 in order to function normally.  We are counting on the day and night brace, that he will be getting in any day now, to finish the job.  The therapists believe the braces should stretch him continuously and should SLOWLY but surely get him to where he needs to be.  This could take anywhere from 6-12 months.  Boo:(  However, it is either this or another surgery....(the surgery would lengthen his tight muscle and tendon) so we, at this point, are choosing to take the long road.  Surgery may be on the horizon, but there is a chance we can beat it.  Here are a few pics and a video from the last couple of weeks:

 4th and final cast

We are not above bribery!

 Getting the cast removed.

Trying E-Stem...electrical stimulation to contract and flex muscles.  Cam is smiling here, but that was before they turned it on!  Not a happy camper afterwards!
