The "toughest" day...or so they say

We were told yesterday evening that today, day 3 post surgery, is suppose to be the toughest day on the kids, and mom & dad... so far Cam is proving them wrong. 

Things started out pretty early. We had to be awake at 6 for the pain medicine and Dr's to begin the de-tangling of all his cords, wires and tubes. The first was the toughest, the dreaded catheter. He was not pleased with this part, but this dad doesn't blame him. That to me goes in the top 5 of things I do not want to experience. After that it has been a breeze. The monitor pads and heart rate line came off easily; and the epidural catheter felt a little funny he said but no crying. He endured it all and was waiting in anticipation for the moment he could get out of bed. 

The therapist came in at 8:30 and we finally got him out of bed and into the stroller. He requiresassistance toget outof bed, so I'm not sure if it was the guy (me) or his toughness but he didn't cry once going from bed to his ride. We were told he could be out of bed for up to 1 hour... And he would have if mom and dad didn't force him back in.  Here he is...

 After the adventure outside of his room, he came back to bed and had to watch his favorite cartoon... Tom&Jerry. This video is a short clip of him watching it.

We are loving see him giggle again and acting like his old self. Things are going well so far, other than him complaining about a headache after sitting in the stroller for 45 minutes (which went away after he got back into bed). He's proving to be a champ. God is continuing to answer our prayers, and I have no doubt Cam will continue to impress at our 2:00 therapy session.
