Before Surgery

 

 

Here are a couple of videos to show you Cam's "Before" Surgery.

 

 

The first video shows him toe-walking on his right side.  When he wears his brace, it helps him to place his heel down and he has a normal gait pattern.  The second video shows him able to wiggle his toes and flex his foot up and down on his left side.  His right foot cannot do these things.  We are hoping the surgery will correct this.  We stretch Cams ankle/calf several times a day, and it is VERY hard to get it to a 90 degree angle.  This is because of the tightness (spasticity) from his stroke/CP.  If this is not corrected, it will cause many problems with his bones and muscles as he grows.
